stolen Vanmoof bike

stolen Vanmoof bike

On about the night of Friday 11 August, on the corner of Greeves and Hargreaves streets, a man called Neil had his bike stolen. It was locked to a pole. Just a week before, a neighbour also had their bike stolen from their back garden on the same corner.…

detritus of the twentieth century

Some remnants of late twentieth century digital infrastructure dumped on Greeves St on the corner of a laneway behind the Black Cat. Everything in the box is now in your phone.

goodbye Paradiso, hello Bad Frankie

goodbye Paradiso, hello Bad Frankie

After taking over this Greeves St location from the failed Felice’s, Bar Paradiso seemed to be doing well for a while. Perhaps it was a bit invisible and, with increasing choice becoming available as gentrification marches north on Smith St, the customers were simply not returning.…

cultural critique

This is on the Greeves St side wall of Alimentari. The author of the comment refers to a much faded and degraded paste-up by Miso, over which the Australia / Invasion day poster had been pasted. A slap-down from a disgruntled postgraduate tutor who perhaps has their own issues.…

Felice’s has closed

Felice’s has closed

In 2009-2010 I was a Saturday regular at Felice’s. The owners were friendly and did good simple food and coffee. Then something went wrong and the coffee became terrible and I stopped going. I haven’t thought about Felice’s for a while but while walking past yesterday I noticed that it had closed.…
