In expressing my admiration for Very Good Falafel and Just Falafs more recently, I forgot that I had neglected to visit the place that preceded them both – Tahina on High St in Northcote. This is a sabich, a pita filled with fried eggplant, chopped boiled egg, Israeli salad and tahini. Inside Tahina is tiny – smaller than Very Good Falafel and Just Falafs. My friend had the green falafel – made with coriander inside – and was impressed. I love that we now have so many good falafel places – from Egyptian at Half Moon cafe to Israeli at Tahina and Just Falafs.
