I was disappointed to find recently that Palinka on Brunswick St has closed. I really enjoyed the food on my first visit, but was ambivalent on my second as the quality had already slipped. A subsequent fundamental shift in the menu away from huge mains to tapas style small share plates indicated that the original menu wasn’t working, but it seemed to make no difference.

It’s a shame as I thought this place offered something different on Brunswick St and might succeed, but it lasted less than a year. A Mexican place offering implausibly expensive tacos seems to be squatting in the venue.

With every pub around offer parmas, a place which relied heavily of schnitzels was always going to be a tough sell. It’s pretty cut-throat out there at present. My next “watch this space” would have to be the Yacht Club.

I have a feeling the taco shop may be another just offspring set…

It certainly looks odd. But why would they need small menus in the window for filming?

Offspring character Jimmy (Nina’s brother) has a taco business.

I hope it is an offspring menu because anyone selling three tacos for $30 and + $7 to add cheese is in fantasy land!
Speaking of Tacos, Little Hop seem to be busier now Los Hermanos is on board.
The site post B’Stilla might actually work out.
