Wow. A mouth foamer. I’ve not been ranted at for quite a while by someone with negligible punctuation skills so when this arrived by email recently it came as something of a nostalgic treat. Thanks Angie. It concerns my recent opinion about the new Ice bar on Brunswick St and is supplied verbatim:

WOW… YOU CLEARLY NEED TO GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT before posting such nonsense ( which as all us long standing LOCALS are used to from this backward blog )….anyway my point is THE ICEBAR… yes it has relocated with new investors who were not responsible for the unforeseen downfall of the southbank ICEBAR, .You claim to be concerned about OUR BELOVED FITROY,however you clearly haven’t walked down your streets & seen the numerous vacant shops!! SUPPORT SMALL BUISINESS., YOU NEED TO COOL DOWN, so I suggest you go to THE ICEBAR which as a local for 30 + years it is a must see, & a REFRESHING change from the drunk hipsters who think they are TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL ! get chilled fitzroyalty AT THE icebar …. you may enjoy yourself as all who have entered have.

I have seen the empty shops. I would like them filled with viable businesses run by competent people so they survive and prosper and not shut down within months. I don’t think the Ice bar is what locals want and that it cannot survive on tourist custom alone.

I make lots of predictions. Most recently I predicted that fancy Japanese fusion breakfast was not something Brunswick St wanted on a weekday and guess what? Ichi Ni stopped serving it after about a month. Angie doesn’t seem to think that critical thought or the freedom to express opinions should be allowed, but whatevs…

I was going to say by June, but maybe if people like “Angie” are manning the place, Easter may be the shot!

I saw a very bored looking staff member there on Friday. It was hot as balls, yet seemed empty…

I wonder if Angie has any vested interests, by any chance.

I assume she does given I’ve read nothing in the media about ownership of the bar and other knowledge she claims to possess.
