While my primary drinks interest is in wine, I also love beer, and a visit to the Bridge Rd Brewery in Beechworth is a great thing to do when in the town. They were full to bursting on Easter Sunday but the staff were prepared.

They informed us that the wait for food orders was about an hour, but we could get some bread and nuts quickly and they delivered on this. Unfortunately they also could not offer their small tasting glasses, due to the crowds, so the girlfriend and I only managed to try 4 of their beers, not the full set. The chestnut beer is good, but I loved the Bling India pale ale.

Bridge Rd Brewery has been positively reviewed by The quince poacher, Rick Besserdin, Eat drink stagger and Gastrology. The food exceeded my expectations. From the top down: crumbed mussels, bread, oil and nuts, ribs with star anise BBQ sauce and chorizo pizza. Should you ever tire of wine and fine dining in Beechworth, you won’t go hungry or thirsty.
