L’atelier de Monsieur Truffe, on Lygon St East Brunswick, has been reviewed so many times that I’m not going to list them all. It can be very busy on weekends and, while I won’t queue for any length of time, I will sit and have a coffee and a croissant when I am told at the start that the kitchen is queued up and orders will take some time. The staff are organised here.
A couple of weeks ago ‘the’ (not ‘my’) girlfriend (as she recently requested to be described) and I had another brunch there. She had the pork with pineapple and chili on a sweet brioche bun and I the poached eggs with white anchovies. Bliss. Yummy in my tummy. You must go. Don’t believe me. Read the endless reviews and the drool over the glorious photos. This is one of the best informal meals in Melbourne at the moment.
