Since I began the monthly ‘tell me where to go’ poll I have been using a Flash based poll plugin as, at the time, it was the only one I could find that worked as documented. Apart from embedding a web based poll (ugly and covered in branding) there were few choices and only one reasonable choice to make.

The problem with this is that Flash can’t be viewed on Apple’s mobile devices and so some readers were unable to vote. I think I have now fixed this with the implementation of a different poll plugin. It looks and functions in a similar manner and I hope it will encourage more people to vote.

I’d appreciate your feedback on how it works. The poll is at the top of the right hand column of the page.

It shows the current number of votes for each, even before my vote has been cast, instead of after it as is more normal. This might skew your results. This is in firefox 4.? and 5 on a mac.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ve altered the settings to not show the results until after the user has voted so it is like it used to be with the old plugin.

I usually publish the results along with the review when I get around to doing it. I haven’t looked at the survey data yet so I don’t know who won.
