A simply awesome observation from Jodi. I think this is Brunswick St north of Leicester St, but I am sure I saw another example on the corner of Gertrude St.

These are ads for the ‘Thirsty Camel’ chain of bottle shops (see sticker in bottom right). There’s a TV commercial that shows the same thing (people putting “Hump” stickers over stuff) in an attempt to get people to “Think Camel”.

It’s a fairly widespread advertising campaign by Thirsty Camel Bottle shops. They also have TV adverts and a few other posters around…

Sadly it’s advertising for Camel bottle shops – there’s a tv commercial as well :(

This what happens when you don’t watch advertising – you lose the ability to distinguish between advertising and fun! I record broadcast tv to watch later so I can skip the ads.

I haven’t seen the TV ads either, but can confirm there is one on the corner of Brunswick and Gertrude.

The TV advert was banned as it was thought to promote vandalism. Another version has been created that asks the question – is street art vandalism? http://youtu.be/8vPRG1X5nmc

They’re barking mad if they think any consumer has any brand loyalty to a chain retailer… it’s all about price.
