Like the Kitten of doom, I am fascinated by abandoned buildings. The one behind the Vegie Bar on Rose St is for sale after being held by the current owner for over 60 years. Judging by the debris in the building, visible through a broken side window, it has been sitting vacant for most of that time. Some materials on the far side appear to have rotted into unidentifiable matter, though more recent plastic bags are also scattered about. I find it incredible that such valuable real estate can sit unused for so long.

Not familiar with the building but it looks to be a fairly decent size!
Probably deceased estate sale, can’t imagine how they’ve let it sit like that for so long, though.
    Like a Miss Havisham!
Be interested what it makes at auction/sale.

I would rather it sit dorment than greedy developers get their hands on it and build another disgusting, uninspiring block of units that is all too commen in Fitzroy.

Hmm I didn’t even know that one was there.

It makes me wonder WHY would just leave properties like this one to rot… mighty waste of money if you ask me! I’d rather sell it for some moolah.. :)

But there are many like this around, there are several on Faraday St, right near the Lygon St corner; talk about prime real estate! Many others in Fitzroy and Collingwood too.
