Last Saturday afternoon (before the rain) was the best time to be at the Johnston St Spanish Fiesta. The cooler weather meant it was busy, but as not overwhelmingly crowded as last year, and there was lots of delicious food to sample (from top down): taquitos from Los Amates, sweetcorn hotcakes with salsa and coriander yoghurt, empañada de queso and picarones. Mmmmm, everything was fried. There’s another good food review at Food stuff Melb.

Did you come? There was a lot of meat but also a lot of vegie food, like the taquitos (bean filling), corn hotcakes and some of the empanadas.

And the homemade lemonade I had was so delicious and refreshing!
