On the morning of Tuesday 13 October I walked past the Black Cat on Brunswick to see lots of men in orange fluoro safety vests standing around. I wondered if some work was being done on the garden to meet council requirements, but there seemed rather a lot of them for that relatively small job, and behind the many workers were cameras and crew. I asked one of the fluoro vested workers securing the cordoned off area around the corner of Greeves St what was happening and it turned out to be a shoot for the season 3 pilot of Rush.
There was a similar shoot in Argyle St the week before, which may have been for the same show. Fitzroy has been a popular location for TV shoots in the past couple of years, with City Homicide also shooting indoor scenes and outdoor locations in back streets.
