It’s been a while since I had time to do a Fitzroy history post, but they are popular and I do mean to continue with them. I have plenty more in the draft queue. This map shows the portion of Fitzroy bounded by Victoria Parade, Johnston Street, Nicholson Street and Smith Street. The black squares show the locations of hotels, wine shops, licensed grocers and delicensed hotels and wine shops c1935. Many remain, though some have been replaced by the hospital or have been converted to other uses.
