Last night I went to the fantastic ‘Teuila Postcards’ by Polytoxic at the Arts House in North Melbourne. It’s a  60 minute theatre and dance performance about aspects of Samoan culture that is clever and extremely funny. While I’m not a fan of contemporary dance in general, the combination of theatre, mime and dance, with its humour, excellent stage design and colourful costumes, made the show highly entertaining.

The many Pacific islander people in the audience were laughing hysterically, particularly in response to jokes about the rivalry between Samoa and Tonga. There’s a detailed review of the show here. The show is on again tonight and tomorrow night.
