Cibi is a lovely cafe slash Japanese homewares (crockery and cutlery, origami paper, manga tshirts, toy robots) slash (very reasonably priced) Danish furniture shop that is a delight to visit. The coffee is excellent. I visited at about midday last Saturday, and it was starting to fill up. They’ve been open for about 8 weeks and are still being discovered by locals.

My girlfriend chose the potato salad with egg and broccoli and sourdough. It was not actually described as a sandwich so it was a surprise when it arrived! It was delicious.

I chose the traditional breakfast plate, which featured rice, salmon, omelette, green vegetable and a small portion of the same potato salad, with miso on the side. The skin of the salmon was crusted with salt and wonderfully crisp, and every item was fresh and tasty.

The miso was full of vegetables and tofu.

The premises features fantastic light coming in from the north facing street windows. The range of products is fascinating and we spent some time looking at everything after eating.

    Hi Brian,
I tried to find that place but I wasn’t able to…
    Where exactly is it?

Hi Markus, I should probably write the address – it’s 45 Keele Street, Collingwood. Cibi is in a warehouse type building – when it’s open there will be a sign out on the footpath. Enjoy!
