On Monday night after a day’s work in Sydney I was taken by a friend to dinner at Three Clicks West in Annandale, where I had a sensational meal. The restaurant is in a converted house and the interior is warm, inviting and elegant.

The food is modern European with intriguing surprises. We first received a delicious appetiser soup served in an espresso cup – cute!

My friend started with the Seafood Vermouth Fricassee – “Scallop, mussel, prawn, squid and pipi poached in a light vermouth sauce with fresh herbs and Israeli couscous” (I’m quoting from the menu). I had the entre special of herb crusted mushroom risotto, which was divine.

Finally, I had the Roast Duck – “Duck rillette with roasted breast, pumpkin dauphines, nashi and rosemary jelly and chocolate duck jus” (again quoting from the menu). Again, words are inadequate. I urge you to go there and eat. Fly to Sydney if necessary. Make sure you have a glass of the Spanish Tempranillo.
