I’ve just got back to Melbourne after spending 3 days with my girlfriend visiting her family in the regional Queensland town of Stanthorpe, in the Granite Belt wine and stone-fruit region. A highlight of the weekend was visiting Robert Channon winery, where I tasted a number of very good wines, including their award winning Verdelho. On Saturday night we ate excellent Italian food at Anna’s restaurant.

It’s been a while since I’ve been out of the city and it was great to be driving on the open road and breathing fresh, although rather cold, air. The town butcher has a great sign above the shop that I could not help but photograph.
