I visted Byron Bay recently for the first time and loved the beach and the colours of the place. From the top down: the lizard living in the garden of our rented apartment, main beach, breakfast at the Byron Beach cafe behind Clarke’s beach, a ladybug, felafel and hummus from Orgasmic foods on Bay Lane, bikes and beer are two of the most common things in town, a plum coloured Renault 12 (definitely not an original colour) and delicious old school pizza with wholemeal bases from Earth ‘n’ Sea on Byron St.…

When I went to Auckland recently I spent two days on Waiheke Island, which is about 40 minutes by ferry to the east of Auckland.
