Some time after the ugly southside aesthetic furniture shop on Smith St closed in late 2014, the space became Like Minded Projects, three artisanal pretentious food businesses that were never going to survive off the main strip in this low visibility southern-most block of Smith St. The collective lasted a bit over a year.

Not related to this closure, but I noticed today that Gluttony is a Sin on Smith St closed over Christmas and never re-opened. One of the last long standing cafes on Smith St to close I think (it’s been there for 20 years at least).

Having said that I’m not surprised it closed. Whenever I went in over the years the owner (I assume) was extremely rude. There did seem to be a loyal few that hung around. A victim of not moving with the times and gentrification of the street I suppose.

Just leased. New tenants are busy ripping out the existing expensive fitout. Apparently opening soon as… a burger joint. Groundbreaking.

More burgers. Do they think we don’t know how to eat with utensils?
