Revised plans for the proposed rooftop expansion of Naked for Satan are available on the City of Yarra website and your opportunity to object to them close tomorrow, Monday 15 August. When the original plans were published earlier this year, we didn’t have an important piece of relevant information – the publication of metropolitan Melbourne crime hotspots in late July.

One of the hotspots is the corner of Brunswick and Johnston streets in Fitzroy – exactly where Naked for Satan is. In this context, is it a good idea to concentrate another 350 drinkers in this location? It’s not Naked for Satan’s fault of course – at least not theirs alone – as many venues contribute to the crowd that develops on this corner on Friday and Saturday nights. What is the greater good here?

Another red spot added to the Johnstone St map last night. The cops had to get the capsicum spray out to break up a brawl.
