Pireaus Blues, which opened in 1995 and is one of the longest running restaurants on Brunswick St, is closing if the real estate sign on the roof is to be believed. That may be a relief to nearby (and relative newcomer) Alpha Ouzeri but a shame for diners. I admit to not having visited in a while but I have always enjoyed their food.

The owner runs the Greek Street Food Truck and I saw a sign in a shop front on High st Thornbury near Carwyn Cellars that they are opening a new casual Greek Street Food eatery (? think Jimmy Grants)

I went there today for a last goodbye lunch and indeed the wait staff confirmed that today (Sunday) is their last service.

Such a shame, the owners need to update their website and remove their answering service.

I suppose such customer service niceties are no longer important when you have no customers to please.
