Last month chalk advertisements for a new artist market appeared on the footpath on Brunswick St. I followed the arrows on Saturday 28 November to the Shabana Jacobson studio and gallery, located in a building on Alexandra Parade next to the Fitzroy pool (on the corner of Young St) that used to be a wooden furniture shop.

Inside were several stalls featuring jewellery, clothing and paintings. It was a quiet start but it was their first day open, and I’m sure it will pick up as more people find it. The next market day is tomorrow, Saturday 12 December 2009.

It has some pretty cool stuff. I haven’t been in yet, only looked through the window as I’ve been walking past. There was a cute little kitten in there once, just chilling out :)
