Choosing where to have pizza on Lygon St is a serious issue. Many look and smell good, but the difference in taste can be significant. My favourite three pizza cafes would be Papa Gino’s, Il Corretto and Cafe Trevi.
At Papa Gino’s, the marinara pizza is divine – lots of seafood and lots of garlic. At Il Corretto, I love the volcano – chilli, hot salami – always with a very cold beer. Finally, at Trevi, the priscutto pizza is perfect – thin crisp base, very simple, traditional and delicious. It’s my current favourite. To finish, Trevi make a wonderful espresso.
